Term 1 Week 14

Dreams. It had and will always be stereotyped as being a lawyer, a doctor, or even just a banker. Anything as long as it is related with money-spinning jobs. Yet, no one have ever aspired to be a road cleaner, a garbage man. Why? When did such biased thinkings enter out head?

In my opinion, it all started the moment we were born. Our parents have allowed their thinkings to give us the mindset that doing such jobs are a disgrace. However, have we ever stop to wonder that without such hardworking people in our society, we will have never live in the world we now live in. It requires a mammoth effort for these people to enter our society and take up the responsibility to make out world a better place to live in. Instead, we used them as examples for what our children should NOT be when they grow up.

Thus, we ought to admire them for their valour in willing to take up such an important role in our society, and not to make them feel ashamed for faithfully serving our community.
